Planning An Event


1. Determine the type of event
- league competition, one day event or weekend tournament.
- describe specifically type of event

2. Determine for whom the event is planned
- on who should participate
- age, gender, academic qualification need to be considered.
- other criteria

3. Determine the size or scope of the event
- how many participant
- limit will be reached

4. Determine the categories of competition to be offered
- how you will organized the competition (depend on the type of event you’re planning).
- consider skill, age, gender, height, weight

5. Determine the dates & duration of the event
- numbers of days need
- number, availability, cost & size of facilities
- convenience of the dates for participant, official
- transportation needs
- weather provisions

6. Determine the location of the event
- may require a single location with a facility that you control.
- may require multiple sites for completing all contests.
- evaluate whether your community, school or club facility is the best location for the event.

Basic Golf Tournament Setup....


SCOPE
This procedure is applicable to golfers and the operation staff to ensure a smooth operation to avoid disruption in the flow of golfers traffic in order to maximise golf course utilisation and customer satisfaction.

IMPLEMENTATION

Registration
Organisation with agreements signed with the club are required to present their membership card, identity card and handicap card at registration failing which they will have to pay.

Golfer Arrival Procedure
Golfer arrives at bag drop area and is met and greeted by Golf Assistant. Golf Assistant collects golf bag from customer, tags golf bag with identification tag and gives one portion to customer for claim after game. Golf bag is sent to buggy terminal. Customer arrives at golf registration counter and completes golf registration form. Golf Registration Staff collects golf registration form, charges customer and hands golf receipt and course ticket to customer.Customer presents course ticket to buggy station. Golf Assistant loads golf bag onto buggy and directs customer to his tee box.Customer reports to the Starter and hands course ticket. Starter verifies all entries eg. Membership particulars, payment etc. and customer is allowed to tee off. Starter records flight details onto starter sheet and files the course with it.

Marshaling
Marshals patrol the golf course at reasonable intervals to ensure a smooth and timely flow of play and golfers observance of the golf course rules and etiquette of play.Golfers who are found to breach are given a friendly reprimand and repeat offenders referred to the Disciplinary Committee.

Golfer Departure Procedure
Golfer arrives from last green to buggy terminal. Staff member inspects buggy, unloads golf bags and sends them to golf bag pick up area.Golfer hands over his portion of bag tag to staff member at bag pick area to collect bag. Staff member assist to load bag into car. If golfer has lost his potion of bag tag, Staff member will record his particulars (i/c no, telephone, car no. etc) together with golf bag number.

Scoring
Key in score that been given by the golfers. Make sure they sign the scorecard before submit to calculate the score.Print all score and submit it to golf manager and customer for prize giving.

Basic Golf Technique & Equipment


INTRODUCTION:
James IV of Scotland. Ever familiar with this name? How about Tiger Woods, Jack Nicklaus and our local players P. Gunasegaran and M. Ramayah? Mirror-mirror of the world, what the fairer game of all? Combining the strong mentality and technique, it goes to a fair game. Back to those names, for your information, all of them are golf players. Golf belongs to the group of sports best described as target ball games, such as snooker and bowling.Golf has been played 2 centuries before Kolven pictures were painted.The novelist Sir Walter Scott doubted that the word golf came from the verb “to growff” meaning hit.Golf is all about tradition.

BODY:
A) Etiquette
1. Courtesy on the course
Safety – prior to playing or making practice swing, the player should ensure that there is no one standing near or close by the position to be hit by the club.Consideration for Other Players – The player who has honor should be allowed to play or hit the ball first. No one should talk or stand near the player or directly behind the ball when player addressing the ball.Pace of Play – In the interest of all, players should not play without delay. If they’re so slow, they should give the players behind them to pass through.

2) Priority on the course
In the absence of special rules, 2 players or 2-ball matches should have precedence over and be entitled to pass any three or four-ball match.

3) Care of the Course
Holes in the bunkers- before leaving the bunker, a player should carefully fill up and smooth the all footprints.Replace divots; Repair Ball-Marks and Damage by Spikes- the player should repair any damaged that he or she have done on the putting green by golf shoe spikes and the ball itself.
